REE Corporation is a pioneering diversified business group founded in 1977 with deep roots in Vietnam’s progress: from its early nation rebuilding to a now thriving prosperity. After becoming the first company in Vietnam to transform from a state-owned entity to a public enterprise under equitisation in 1993, REE was the first company to be listed on the Vietnam stock exchange in 2000. Today, REE has business operations in power and water utilities, mechanical and electrical engineering, air conditioning services, and real estate.

REE aspires to grow with Vietnam by building long term energy and infrastructure businesses and engineering sustainable solutions while Vietnam is transitioning to renewable energy and promoting investment in green infrastructure to foster sustainable growth. The Group seeks to scale up the renewable energy business through new project pipelines and asset acquisitions; develop more commercial office space along with acquiring residential land banks for development; and provide engineering solutions for a sustainable green economy.

REE has strategic interests in hydroelectric, solar, wind and thermal energy with a combined equity-adjusted power generation capacity of 1,051 MW as well as key holdings in water utilities with a total attributable water production capacity of 450,000 m³/day. REE owns and manages 145,000 m² of commercial office properties in Ho Chi Minh City, attracting tenants from diverse business sectors. The Group has REE M&E as Vietnam’s leading provider of engineering services, sourcing and contracting expertise with unsurpassed experience in commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.

Our History

1977

The company was founded as a state-owned entity and later renamed Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corporation (REE).

1993

REE became the first company to transform from a state-owned company to a public enterprise in 1993 under equitisation.

1996

The Reetech air conditioner brand was introduced.

1997

REE issued Vietnam’s first convertible bonds to foreign investors.

2000

REE became the first company to be listed on Vietnam’s stock market.

2001

Construction of the e.town 1 office building began, marking REE’s entry into real estate.

2008

E.town campus came into full operation with a total leasable area of 80,000 m².

2011

REE Tower was launched with a total leasable area of 18,000 m².

2014

Thac Ba Hydropower Plant became a REE subsidiary following REE’s diversification into power and water sectors in 2010.

2015

REE completed the conversion of bonds issued to Platinum Victory Pte. Ltd. in 2012, a 100% owned subsidiary of Jardine Cycle & Carriage.

2017

REE office portfolio’s leasable area reached 134,000 m² with the addition of 34,000 m² from the e.town Central office building.

2019

REE’s takeover of Tra Vinh V1-3 Wind Power project and REE Solar Energy’s incorporation marked the company’s entry into the renewable energy sector.

2020

The e.town 5 office building was launched, bringing total leasable office area to 145,000 m².

REE completed the Group’s restructuring into sector holding companies: REE Energy, REE Water and REE Land.

2021

Tra Vinh V1-3, Phu Lac 2 and Loi Hai 2 wind farms began commercial operation.

Vinh Son – Song Hinh Hydropower Plant became a REE subsidiary.
