The 200MW REE Phu Cuong 1A & 1B Project, located in the commune of Lai Hoa, and the wards of Vinh Chau, Vinh Phuoc, and Khanh Hoa communes, Can Tho City, officially commenced today, May 19, 2026.
The ceremony was attended by:
- Le Quang Tung – Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the City’s National Assembly Delegation.
- Ma Thi Tuoi – Member of the City Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the City People’s Council.
- Vuong Quoc Nam – Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee.
- Representatives from local communes and wards within the project area.
- Representatives from city departments, contractors, suppliers, and banks and many dedicated members of the REE team.
The project has received strong support from local leaders regarding site clearance and sea area allocation. These are key factors ensuring the construction progress for the project to officially reach its Commercial Operation Date (COD) on October 1, 2027.
